Daniel Drabkin practice focuses on the representation of sponsors in all aspects of fund formation, structuring, marketing and operating alternative investment funds, with significant experience in real estate, private credit, private equity and fund-of-fund strategies.
Daniel has significant experience with secondaries transactions (both buy-side and sell-side) involving the purchase and sale of mature fund interests, including complex GP-led fund restructurings, continuation vehicles and large secondary portfolio transactions. He is a market leader in the area of private credit secondaries funds in particular, having advised multiple sponsors on the establishment of their inaugural private credit secondaries funds as well as on numerous transactions in the sector.
He also represents institutional investors in negotiating LP-side investments into funds, co-investments and other managed accounts.
Daniel's recent experience includes acting for firms such as AllianceBernstein Private Credit Investors, Apollo Global Management, Cathay Capital, Capital Dynamics, Development Bank of Japan, DigitalBridge, (formerly Colony Capital), J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Mercer Investment Management, Montecito Medical Real Estate, Mubadala, Nuveen, Nuveen Green Capital, Oxford Finance and Tikehau Capital, among others. He previously worked in-house as corporate counsel to a public commercial real estate and investment management firm, and he clerked at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Netherlands.
