Courtney Horrigan

Courtney Horrigan represents policyholders in complex insurance recovery disputes, encompassing both litigation and arbitration proceedings. She handles cases in federal and state courts throughout the United States, as well as in domestic and foreign arbitrations in London and Bermuda.

Courtney’s practice involves analysis and strategic recovery under a broad range of insurance products, including directors and officers liability, professional liability, cyber liability, commercial general liability, products liability, employment practices liability, property, fidelity and surety bond, financial institution bond, crime, and fiduciary liability. Her clients include public and private companies, as well as non-profit organizations, across multiple industries.

Courtney counsels clients on insurance coverage and corporate indemnification. She works alongside clients to negotiate insurance policies during placements and renewals and performs insurance policy audits for boards of directors, trustees, risk management and legal departments. She also performs corporate due diligence on insurance and litigation matters, and advises on transactional risk protection, including representations and warranties insurance.

Courtney is a frequent writer and has quarterly by-lines focused on key insurance topics in both Reuters and Law360. Courtney is also a regular public speaker. Her speaking engagements have included the American Bankers Association’s Insurance Risk Management Forum, the DePaul College of Law’s Jaharis Health Law Institute, the Illinois State Bar Association, and Marsh's client seminars.

She was honored by the Pittsburgh Business Times as a Woman of Influence.
