Amir Shlesinger

Amir is a highly skilled litigation partner in Reed Smith’s Managed Care practice group. He has over 20 years of experience representing clients in the managed care industry, and leads a variety of litigation teams within the firm. His clients include some of the largest health care payors in the country.

He is often called upon for his experience in health care to defend class-action matters challenging payors’ reimbursement practices and benefit adjudication procedures, and to litigate contract disputes, out-of-network reimbursement disputes, member direct-pay disputes, and ERISA litigation. Amir is familiar with a variety of self-funded payor-client relationships and “other payor” relationships and helps clients navigate these issues in litigation.

Amir has first chaired jury trials and arbitration in this space, but works closely with clients to develop pre-litigation strategies and to evaluate policies and procedures to mitigate and avoid disputes. He has been invited to speak at industry conferences, including JAMS events to educate neutral on how to effectively administer arbitration in health care.

Amir’s experience with a variety of clients and issues provides him with significant insight into industry trends and developments which he can draw upon to tailor solutions to clients’ unique problems.
