Carla Gonçalves Borges joined VdA in 2013. Partner of the Litigation & Arbitration practice, she focuses her practice in commercial and civil litigation and in arbitration, both national and international, acting often as an arbitrator.

Carla represents clients represents clients from a wide range of industries, including banking, funds and financial services, energy, construction, infrastructures, PPP, industrials, sports, trade and distribution, telecommunications and emerging technologies, health, tourism and leisure. She has significant experience in insolvency and restructuring proceedings as well criminal and misdemeanour proceedings.

Carla is part of the Under-40 Management Committee of the Portuguese Arbitration Association.

Admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association.

Member of the Portuguese Arbitration Association.

Carla is part of the Under-40 Management Committee of the Portuguese Arbitration Association.

Member of the Executive Commission of Concórdia – Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration Centre.

Member of the Board of the Portuguese Chapter of Club Español del Arbitraje (CEA).

Participates as speaker in conferences and seminars on arbitration matters and has published several articles, mainly in the subject of arbitration, but also concerning civil procedure law, civil law and company law.
