Carl MacQuarrie is counsel in Dentons Canada’s Regulatory group. He is known for his knowledge of Canada’s communications regulatory frameworks and his enthusiasm to learn about innovative new technologies.

Carl is an experienced regulatory advocate, having participated extensively before key regulatory bodies, including the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada and the Competition Bureau of Canada. He leverages his understanding of diverse network technologies – including satellite, mobile and fixed wireless, and wireline infrastructure – to make clear, cogent submissions to regulators.

Prior to joining Dentons, Carl completed his articles with the CRTC and practised as regulatory counsel for two of Canada’s largest telecommunications service providers. He is a highly practical and strategic adviser who brings a strong business focus to his practice. A problem-solver by nature, Carl is passionate about finding solutions that promote his client’s objectives.
