Career

An environmental partner with vast experience in the financial services, corporate, real estate, hotel/hospitality/travel, and insurance industries, Andrew Perel has more than 35 years of experience with all aspects of environmental law. This includes counseling clients on evaluating environmental exposures and liabilities associated with corporate, real estate, and financing transactions, as well as development and redevelopment projects, risk management and insurance, remediation of contaminated properties, environmental compliance and due diligence, and litigating and trying complex environmental and environmental insurance coverage claims and disputes. He also has extensive experience in environmental investigations and audits, the design and implementation of environmental compliance programs and systems, and evaluation of self-reporting and voluntary compliance strategies. Mr. Perel has supervised environmental consultants and professionals in North and South America and Europe, and has successfully litigated before all levels of state and federal courts and represents clients before federal, state and local regulatory agencies with respect to remediation, permitting, compliance and Brownfield projects.

A New York Office representative on Troutman Pepper’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, Mr. Perel is extremely active within the firm regarding policies, procedures and initiatives that reflect and support the firm’s core values to further and support diversity, equity and inclusion.
