With 38 years of professional experience in the sectors of foods and beverages, financial services, real estate, agro-industry business, pharmaceutical and life sciences, aviation, manufactures, professional services and startups; he has experience advising companies in matters that include taxes and corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions transactions, private equity investments, financial transactions and project financing. He is also an advisor to natural persons and family groups on tax and inheritance planning. Likewise, he has extensive practice in corporate law and leads real estate and entrepreneurship practice.
During his career, he has been a university professor in tax matters, both at the undergraduate level, as well as at the master’s and specialization level, at the Francisco Marroquín University. He is currently president of the International Fiscal Association (Guatemala); belongs to several local and international tax associations. He has acted as legal advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala (2004-2006); legal advisor for Guatemala for the legal review of the FTA between the Dominican Republic, Central America and the United States (2004); legal advisor of the Minister of Economy of Guatemala during the negotiations of the FTA between Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Mexico (2000-2001).
