Practice Areas

Zoe practises across the related fields of administrative and public law, regulatory, professional discipline, human rights, education, health and community care as well as information and data protection. She is regularly instructed in the high court both led and as sole Counsel. Recent high profile cases include: R. (on the application of Drexler) v Leicestershire CC [2020] EWCA Civ 502 a Court of Appeal decision on complex issues of human rights and discrimination. She was led by Jonathan Auburn in R (Haq) v Walsall MBC [2019] EWHC 70 (Admin), which concerned Article 9 religious rights and discrimination in the context of burial in a local authority cemetery. In the field of education Zoe appeared as sole Counsel in the Upper Tribunal on the leading case on the FTT powers against Independent Schools: The Proprietor of Ashdown House School v JKL [2019] HS/1322/2019 (20 August 2019).
