Yulong Lai specializes in commercial dispute resolution and frequently represents clients in arbitration and litigation proceedings. His experience includes handling disputes related to joint ventures, international sale of goods, OEM agreements, service contracts, construction projects, shareholder and corporate governance issues.
Mr. Lai acts for well-known multinational corporations in commercial disputes before courts of various levels across China. He has extensive experience in handling arbitration cases administered by CIETAC, BAC, SCIA, Guangzhou Arbitration Commission, HKIAC, SIAC, SCC, and arbitration cases under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. In addition, he conducted the first case applying the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules at Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA), and the case he handled for the recognition and enforcement of a Hong Kong arbitral award by mainland courts was listed as a typical case by the Supreme People’s Court.
Mr. Lai is also an arbitrator of the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration Jiangmen (Jiangmen Arbitration Commission) and a mediator of the Qianhai International Commercial Mediation Center. He serves as a member of the 11th International Investment Law Professional Committee of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association and has been selected in the cross-border lawyer talent pool of the Guangdong Lawyers Association. Mr. Lai was awarded the "Future Star" by Benchmark Litigation China in 2025. He has also been rated as a Leading Individual in Dispute Resolution: Arbitration and Corporate/Commercial: Guangdong: Contentious in 2026 by Chambers and Partners. He was recognized as one of the top 30 most outstanding Rising Stars by LEGALBAND and listed in the Rising Star list by China Business Law Journal. He was also ranked as a Top Lawyer by LEGALBAND in 2024 in the category of Dispute Resolution: Arbitration and recognized by the Legal 500 as a Recommended Lawyer in the Dispute Resolution: Litigation category.
