Tae Joo Kim is a partner at Lee & Ko specializing in technology, media & telecommunications (TMT), data protection and digital regulatory matters. He advises Korean and global clients on compliance with Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), cross-border data transfer and outsourcing structures, and regulatory issues arising from telecommunications business, cloud services, digital platforms and connected services.
His recent work includes counseling major technology and media companies on privacy investigations and regulatory inquiries, drafting and negotiating complex service and licensing agreements, and assisting IT and telecoms clients with licensing, registration and ongoing compliance matters. He also closely follows global developments such as the EU AI Act and digital platform regulation and helps clients assess their impact on Korean and cross-border operations.
