Hyung Sub Lim is the head of Lee&Ko North Korea Practice Group of Lee & Ko. His practice focuses on the North Korea matters, sanctions and Inter-Korea Economic Cooperation. Currently, Mr. Lim works as an consultant for the Policy Advisory Committeof the Ministry of Unification, the Kaesong Industrial Complex Legal Consulting Committee and Special Committee on Unification Law of the Ministry of Unification, Special Committee for South and North Korea Law Studies of the Ministry of Justice, Inter-Korean Legislative Research Committee Ministry of Government Legislation and the Seoul Bar Association’s Unification Legislative Affairs Special Committee, as well as Vice Chairman of the Unification Research Committee of the Korean Bar Association. Mr. Lim also handles various corporate matters such as complex business litigation, with emphasis on the following areas: representation of PF and other investment funds in litigations and arbitrations arising from corporate financing and securities transactions, real estate, construction, security regulations, banking, insurance and corporate governance.

Notably, Mr. Lim was appointed as an Adjunct Professor at Sungkyunkwan University School of Law in 2024, where he teaches a course entitled "Understanding the Unification Law" and has been objectively recognised for his expertise and excellence in the field.

KRW 68 billion financial-fraud litigation – Led strategy and represented a major financial institution in a multi-party fraud dispute, including civil and administrative proceedings.

Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) dispute mediation – Advised multiple financial institutions on fund-loss claims, internal-control issues, and adviser-misconduct allegations, achieving early dispute resolution.

National IT and telecom infrastructure projects – Represented clients in disputes over system integration, delays, and technical-performance obligations on large-scale digital-infrastructure projects.

Governance and property disputes for religious organizations – Secured favorable outcomes in leadership succession, property ownership, and breach-of-duty cases for major denominations.

Sanctions and inter-Korean advisory – Advised government ministries on UN and U.S. sanctions, humanitarian-aid licensing, regulatory compliance, and inter-Korean cooperation frameworks.

Joint-venture advisory, Wonsan–Mt. Kumgang International Tourism Zone – Provided guidance on investment structures, governance models, and sanctions-related risks for cross-border cooperative projects.
