Susan Williams is a partner in the Entertainment and Media practice of Paul Hastings and is chair of the firm’s Entertainment and Media Finance group.

Widely regarded as one of the entertainment industry’s top dealmakers, Susan acts at the forefront of the industry’s most sophisticated entertainment-related capital transactions, film and television library and revenue acquisitions, and complex licensing and distribution arrangements. She is sought after by both domestic and international clients for her expertise in structuring and advising both on the legal and business aspects of major transactions throughout the world, including cutting-edge digital media financing and distribution transactions reflecting the changing landscape of the entertainment industry.

Susan’s vast experience includes overall company capital raises, slate financings, first and second lien financings, single-picture production loans, print and advertising financing, securitizations, structured financing transactions, coproductions, and domestic and foreign tax-incentivized financings, as well as distressed debt and restructuring transactions involving film, television, music and other entertainment assets. Regularly recognized as one of the most influential attorneys in Hollywood, Susan has been repeatedly named as among the most notable deal makers in the market by numerous legal and industry publications, including The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, the Daily Journal and Euromoney, among others.

Susan earned her J.D. from the USC Gould School of Law and her B.A. from Tufts University, cum laude.
