Sujey is a commercial litigator with a varied practice but with a focus on international litigation and arbitration. Her professional experience ranges from representing clients in business disputes relating to breaches of contract, Section 1782 litigation, distributorship and construction, and investor claims under NAFTA, to name a few.
Sujey’s experience runs the gamut of industries, including, for example, health care, banking, and construction. Among the legal issues she represents clients in, are issues relating to class actions, bank-related litigation, personal jurisdiction, judgment enforcement, forum non conveniens, arbitrability, comity and enforceability of arbitral awards, among others.
Sujey was born in Nicaragua and is fluent in Spanish. She has served as counsel, both in Spanish and in English, before state and federal courts in Florida, the International Chamber of Commerce, the International Centre for Dispute Resolution, the American Arbitration Association, the Inter-American Commercial Arbitration Commission and other important arbitral institutions. This arbitration experience extends to related proceedings relating to motions to compel arbitration and motions to enforce or vacate arbitral awards.
