Practice Areas

Ms. Sery Lee is a partner at Shin & Kim whose main practice areas are Employment and Labor.

Ms. Lee started practicing law in 2004, and she practiced at Lee & Ko and Kim & Chang before joining Shin & Kim in 2022 as a partner. Her practice focuses on employment and labor, providing advice for major Korean conglomerates and foreign companies and representing clients in litigation before the Korea Labor Service, Labor Commission, and courts. In recent years, Ms. Lee has been particularly prominent in her work on sexual harassment and workplace bullying. In the 2023 Chambers Asia-Pacific publication "The Leading Lawyers and Law Firms in Asia Pacific," an anonymous client commented on her strengths as "Other lawyers work on sexual harassment cases, but no one else eats, sleeps, and breathes the field in the way she does."

Ms. Lee received her bachelor's degree from Yonsei University College of English Literature and Korea University College of Law, her master's degree from Korea University Graduate School of Labor, and her LL.M. from New York University School of Law. She continued to complete her doctoral studies at Korea University Graduate School of Law and was admitted to the 33rd class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute.

In recognition of her expertise in labor and employment matters, Ms. Lee has served or is currently serving as a public interest committee member in charge of adjudication at the Seoul Regional Labor Commission, a disciplinary committee member of the Seoul Regional Employment and Labor Office's Ordinary Disciplinary Committee, and an audit committee member of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. Also, she has been invited as a speaker in dozens of seminars and lectures on labor and employment by multiple public institutions and clients, including the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Korea Management Association, the Federation of Korean Industries, and the Korea Labor and Employment Service.
