Practice Areas
Mr. Jong-Uk Lee is a partner at Shin & Kim, and his main practice areas are capital markets, asset securitization, private equity investment transactions, including fund investment, and general finance.
Mr. Lee has advised clients in various financial transactions, including asset securitization, M&As of financial institutions, and overseas investments by private equity funds. He has successfully led a number of first-of-its-kind structured transactions, such as the Kookmin Bank’s structured covered bonds and local currency issuance structured cross-border securitization transactions. Mr. Lee has also advised clients on specialized financial instruments such as derivatives and derivative-linked products, as well as on various M&A transactions for both financial institutions and non-financial companies.
Mr. Lee graduated from the Seoul National University College of Law and acquired his LL.M from the University of Texas at Austin Law School. He completed the 33rd training course of the Judicial Research and Training Institute. Mr. Lee served as a military judicial officer before joining Shin & Kim LLC and has worked at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton on secondment.
Mr. Lee has authored books and articles, and acted as advisory committee member, on the financial industry. He has been recognized as a leading individual in the capital market sector by Chambers Global, Chambers Asia-Pacific, IFLR 1000 and The Legal 500 Asia Pacific.
