Philipp Werner focuses on German and EU competition and state aid law. He advises on competition law in the context of M&A transactions and represents clients in merger control procedures in the EU and Germany, including the coordination of multijurisdictional filings. His practice includes advice on compliance training, compliance programs, and internal investigations. He also advises on cartel and abuse of dominance investigations in the EU and before national competition authorities. Philipp also has extensive State aid experience, in particular concerning privatization, restructuring, and investment aid. His clients include companies in the automotive, IT, telecom, retail, consumer goods, chemical, infrastructure, and health care sectors. In addition to other publications and speaking engagements, he is the co-editor of EU State aid control: Law and Economics. Philipp is an advisory board member of the Berliner Gesprächskreis für Beihilfenrecht e.V., a member of the Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht e.V. and the American Bar Association.
