Péter is a senior counsel in the Dispute Resolution team at CMS Budapest, with particular expertise in technology, banking and finance disputes. He has more than 15 years of experience advising domestic and international clients on complex international arbitration, commercial litigation, insolvency proceedings, enforcement matters, and customs disputes.

He has extensive experience in disputes in the technology sector, including software and software implementation disputes, IT contract disputes, and IP-related arbitration and litigation.

He also advises on high-value and strategically significant matters in the banking and financial services sector, including banking litigation, finance disputes, lender liability claims, investment-related disputes, and other contentious regulatory and commercial issues affecting financial institutions.

Péter joined CMS Budapest in 2010 and has built a strong reputation for handling complex, high-stakes disputes. His practice is further enhanced by his earlier experience in CMS Budapest’s Banking & Finance team, where he worked between 2007 and 2011 as a paralegal. This background gives him a strong understanding of the legal and commercial issues underlying banking and finance disputes. He broadened his sector knowledge through a part-time secondment to a major Hungarian investment services company.

He also gained in-house experience during a secondment at a major multinational technology company, where he developed practical insight into compliance, corporate decision-making, internal risk management, and business-focused dispute strategy.

Péter is recognised as a Leading Associate for Dispute Resolution in Hungary by Legal 500 and is ranked Band 3 by Chambers Global.
