Paulo Costa Martins advises specifically on: M&A operations in the financial sector, including acquisition of banking entities, business transfers, strategic cooperation agreements and group restructurings; and on financial services and regulatory matters, namely on institutional and conduct rules.

With over 20 years of professional experience advising banks and other financial institutions, he is an expert in advising on regulatory procedures with the supervisory authorities, organizational and governance requirements applying to financial institutions, compliance matters (e.g. MiFID II, AML, PSD II), outsourcing arrangements and structuring and setting-up of investment funds.

Member of the Portuguese Bar Association. Member of the Board of the Portuguese Compliance and Regulatory Observatory.

Author of several articles and speaker at conferences and postgraduate courses in the area of banking and capital markets Law.
