Mike Bettinger is a partner in Sidley’s San Francisco office and heads the firm’s West Coast IP Litigation practice. Mike is a leading national trial lawyer for patent and intellectual property cases. He has tried 26 cases to verdict, securing notable jury trial wins in Federal courts throughout the US for premier technology companies in the telecommunications, computer, software, semiconductor and healthcare industries. In recent years, Mike has notched jury trial wins for Microsoft in the Biscotti case in ED Tex, involving Xbox technology, and the Pixion case in ND Cal, involving videoconferencing technology. He secured a jury verdict of non-infringement for Baxter Healthcare in the Carefusion case in SD Cal, involving infusion pump technology. He also scored a non-infringement jury verdict for Abercrombie & Fitch in the Levi case in ND Cal, involving Levi’s famous trademark for its arcuate-stitched pocket design.
