Mario Ruiz

Mario Ruiz is a Partner in the Intellectual Property Department, where he advises leading national and multinational companies on the protection, enforcement, and strategic management of intellectual property rights. His practice encompasses trademark and patent prosecution, contentious IP matters, portfolio management, and the development of sophisticated enforcement and anti-counterfeiting strategies tailored to complex commercial environments.

Mario has extensive experience designing and implementing comprehensive intellectual property protection strategies that enable clients to maximize the value of their intangible assets while effectively mitigating legal and commercial risks. He regularly advises companies across the pharmaceutical, life sciences, food and beverage, consumer goods, technology, and manufacturing sectors, assisting them in navigating regulatory challenges and developing long-term brand protection and innovation strategies.

His practice also includes the coordination of multi-jurisdictional trademark portfolios, opposition and cancellation proceedings, infringement actions, unfair competition matters, and the negotiation of IP-related agreements. He is recognized for combining legal analysis with a practical understanding of his clients' business objectives, allowing him to deliver commercially driven and strategically focused solutions.

In addition to his intellectual property practice, Mario has developed significant expertise in the intersection of intellectual property, technology, data protection, and innovation. Mario holds an LL.M. in Corporate Law from Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar and an LL.M. in Data Analysis and Technological Innovation from the Universidad de Barcelona – OBS Business School.
