Jorge Alfonso Cevallos Carrera

Jorge Cevallos is an attorney specialized in corporate law, particularly in M&A and finance, actively representing buyers and sellers, and leading the practice of business and project financing. Jorge acts as a proxy for various foreign companies and is a senior counsel and advisor to various corporations in different industries.

In the field of M&A he has participated in several of the 10 most important transactions of various businesses and companies, representing buyers, especially in the food and beverage industry, electrical, agro-industrial, and pharmaceutical sectors.

Jorge also advises on the structuring of financial guarantees and on the analysis of fiduciary arrangements to ensure the correct channeling of resources from public and private projects. In terms of financing, he has acted as an advisor to both lenders and borrowers for operations for more than US $ 500 million in private transactions, bond issuance for more than USD $ 1,700 million and more than USD $ 2,000 million in sovereign financing.

He has been recognized as one of the most prolific legal advisors in the Ecuadorian electricity sector. As an advisor in the electricity sector, he has served as the main advisor to private (generate between 2 and 20 MW) and State-owned companies (generate between 100 to 1500 MW) in their hydroelectric, photovoltaic, and thermoelectric projects.
