Estefania is currently a senior associate at AVL. She has amassed a long standing 11-year practice with specialized knowledge and experience in dispute resolution (national and international arbitration, and judicial proceedings), Competition Law, and Life Sciences. She specializes in the pharmaceutical, telecommunications, mining, oil & gas, logistics and insurance industries.
Estefania is a prolific litigator, acting for clients in local and international arbitration and judicial proceedings. She specializes on complex litigation, particularly in cases involving contracts with state entities, as well as civil and commercial disputes. Her experience allows her to advise on the details of procedural matters of local courts and arbitration chambers. Furthermore, she has acted in international commercial arbitration proceedings under ICC and UNCITRAL rules.
Moreover, she acts as arbitral secretary at the Madrid International Arbitration Centre and the Arbitration Centre of the Ecuadorian American Chamber of Commerce. Estefanía is professor of Property Law and Contract Law at San Francisco de Quito University.
In her Competition Law practice, Estefania acts for private entities in investigation proceedings concerning abuse of market power, unfair competition, and anticompetitive agreements. She also advises clients on a day-to-day basis in competition and regulatory matters.
