Career

María Paula Sánchez is the Director of the Customs and International Trade practice of Posse Herrera Ruiz since 2021. María Paula has more than 13 years of experience in Customs Law, International Trade, Trade Remedies (anti-dumping), Litigation in Customs Law, Free Trade Zones, International Economic Law, Foreign Investment, Foreign Exchange Law, Tax Law related to trade operations and international contracts.

Before joining Posse Herrera Ruiz, she was partner of Legal Comex, Legal Director of Araujo Ibarra’s Medellin branch, Partner of Forero Medina Abogados, she worked in the litigation and arbitration practice of Lloreda Camacho, and in the Congress of the Republic of Colombia as Legislative Advisor.

She has been co-director of the Journal of the Colombian Institute of Tax Law (ICDT), law professor at Javeriana University in International Economic Law, and a professor in the specialization of Customs Law and International Trade at Universidad del Rosario. Co-author of books and academic journals in her areas of practice.

Currently professor of the Master of International Business (MIB) at EAFIT University, Professor of trade remedies and barriers to international trade at Universidad del Rosario and the Universidad Autonoma de Occidente and Member of the Customs and Foreign Trade Academic Commission of the Colombian Institute of Tax Law (ICDT).
