Career
Daniel Posse is one of the founding partners of POSSE HERERRA RUIZ and co-head of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice.
Since 1986 he has devoted his practice mainly to dispute resolution in national and international arbitration, civil and commercial litigation, state contracting and constitutional actions, as well as civil and commercial counseling for national and international clients.
He has extensive experience in disputes related to multiple areas of law such as corporate, distribution and agency contracts, insurance, construction contracts, financial law, trusts, mergers and acquisitions, unfair competition, restrictive practices, consumer protection, oil (exploration, refining and transportation), mining, environmental, concession contracts, public works contracts, contracts related to road, port, railroad, airport infrastructure, fiscal responsibility, portfolio, among others.
Daniel is a Judge of the Consejo de Estado and arbitrator in the lists of the Centro de Arbitraje de la Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá and the Centro de Arbitraje y Conciliación de la Superintendencia de Sociedades. He has also been appointed arbitrator by the ICC and other institutions. He has participated in domestic and international arbitrations, as attorney-in-fact and as arbitrator, under different regulations and applicable laws.
Daniel is recognized in Chambers & Partners as a Star Individual in Dispute Resolution. Publications such as The Legal 500 and Best Lawyer consider him a leader in Colombia in litigation, arbitration and mediation and he is considered a global leader in arbitration by Who’s Who Legal. He is also recognized by Benchmark Litigation as a “litigation star” and as a “Top Arbitrator”.
