Ligia coordinates the Dispute Resolution practice in the Bucharest office with a high value portfolio of clients exceeding EUR 300 million. She advises multinationals and investment funds in complex cross-border investment and commercial arbitration and litigation in a variety of industries, including without limitation construction and infrastructure, agribusiness, energy, financial services. She specialises in construction law, tax law, competition, public procurement, white collar crime, IP/IT and she is a frequent speaker at local and international conferences.
Ligia started her career as a diplomat in the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs specialising in economic diplomacy, investment law and international criminal justice. Since 1994 she is a member of the Bucharest Bar and since 2013 a member of the Ilfov Bar. She gained substantial experience as a private practice lawyer specialising in M&A, competition and dispute resolution by working with prestigious law firms in Bucharest and the City of London.
Ligia read law at the Bucharest University (1994). She holds an LL.M from Bucharest University (International Law and International Relations) (1995), a specialisation in diplomatic and consular law (IIAP/École nationale d’administration (ENA) (1995) and an LL.M. in Business Law and European Law (Competition/Financial Services) from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) (2004).
