Valentina specialises in international commercial and investment arbitration and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards and judgements. She has acted as counsel, arbitrator (sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator and chairperson) and administrative secretary in approx. 80 arbitration and other ADR cases under the major rules, including ICC, LCIA, VIAC, DIS, Swiss Rules, CEAC (now: ASEAC), CAS and UNCITRAL. She has particular experience with parties from the CEE/SEE region, Turkey as well as from China and Hong Kong. Her industry focus is on infrastructure, construction and, manufacturing particularly in the energy and transportation sectors.
Partner at Wolf Theiss. After having served as assistant professor at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, Valentina worked for two boutique law firms as well as at the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris and at CIETAC in Beijing. She has been active in various Task Forces of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR, is the co-author of various articles in the "VIAC Handbook – A Practitioner's Guide" and the co-editor of a handbook of arbitration in the DACH region.
Valentina studied in Vienna, Amsterdam and Taipei and obtained degrees in law (Mag. iur., Dr. iur.) and sinology (Bakk. phil.). Valentina has been admitted to the Austrian bar since 2007.
