Laura Weinrib

Laura's practice focuses on regulated products and services (including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food, consumer products, natural health products, cosmetics and healthcare) and the marketing and advertising of these products and services.

In the medical products and food space, she provides advice regarding product and facility licencing, product classification, labelling, product claims, product safety and recalls, clinical trials, Health Canada and Canadian Food Inspection Agency inspections and enforcement issues, and manufacturing and distribution arrangements.

Laura also advises on all aspects of advertising campaigns in support of current products and new product launches, including advertising and influencer marketing policies. She has experience in reviewing various product claims, including nutrition, health, environmental and packaging claims. She also advises clients on comparative advertising and contests and speaks frequently on hot topics in advertising including greenwashing and social media influencers.

Laura has experience in health-care regulatory matters involving health-care businesses and facilities and regulated health professionals. She helps businesses navigate the unique challenges surrounding provincial regulatory bodies, ownership requirements, conflicts of interest, virtual medicine, professional misconduct, advertising and other health-care compliance concerns.
