Laura Barrios is a Partner in the Estate Planning and Private Wealth practice areas at Morgan & Morgan.

She specializes in advising clients on international tax issues, mainly assisting on efficient corporate structures and compliance matters in multiple jurisdictions. She is part of the team specializing in non-traditional special structures for efficient asset protection and distribution. She caters to wealthy families and professionals in South America, especially Ecuador, Colombia and Chile.

Laura is considered one of Panama´s most experienced tax treaty and CRS and FACTA reporting expert. She has been an advisor to the Panamanian Government in tax treaties negotiations and in the implementation of fiscal and transparency regulations and policies that favor Panama´s jurisdiction.

Throughout his tenure in the public sector, she has collaborated with initiatives that included the reordering of tax matters and fiscal transparency of great impact for Panama, as well as safeguarding Panama´s international image in fiscal matters.

She is frequently appointed as a speaker at conferences on estate planning and tax compliance.
