Practice Areas
Lara has a commercial Chancery practice, which encompasses all aspects of commercial litigation and arbitration, property litigation, company law and insolvency matters.
Lara is highly regarded for her advocacy and regularly appears (unled) against senior juniors or KCs. She represents clients in Court litigation and arbitrations in England and internationally in disputes relating to a range of industry sectors, frequently with a technological focus. Lara also has considerable experience of claims relating to the conduct of fiduciaries such as directors and trustees and shareholder/partnership disputes. Her clients include corporations, insolvency office holders, litigation funders, company directors, private individuals and the UK Government.
She has been consistently ranked as a leading junior barrister by the legal directories since 2022. Lara is currently recommended by the Legal 500 (London Bar) in three practice areas (Commercial Litigation, Insolvency and Property Litigation) and by Chambers and Partners for Real Estate Litigation.
Lara is on the Attorney General’s C Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown and represents the Government in commercial, company and insolvency matters.
Before transferring to the Bar, Lara was previously a solicitor in the London commercial disputes team of two US firms: Weil, Gotshal & Manges and McDermott Will & Emery UK LLP. Between 2013 and 2015, Lara practiced as a Cayman Islands attorney in the Dispute Resolution and Insolvency group at Maples and Calder.
