Stephanie specialises in Intellectual Property, Art, Media, and IT law. A significant proportion of her practice involves an international element and she has experience acting in cases with disputed jurisdiction. She is frequently instructed in commercial and private client cases with technical and creative subject matter or confidential information.
She has appeared in some of the most significant Intellectual Property cases brought before the UK courts, both as part of a team and as sole counsel. She is regularly instructed to appear as sole counsel in the High Court, IPEC and IPO, and has been instructed as sole counsel on multiple occasions in the Court of Appeal. Recent (unled) key cases include: easyGroup v Beauty Perfectionists [2021] EWHC 3385 (Ch) which clarified the law on post-Brexit TM jurisdiction, Adolf Schaller v Ivor Braka (settled pre-trial 2022) on appropriation art under UK and USA law, and Glencairn IP Holdings v Product Specialities [2020] EWCA Civ 609 which set new precedent in relation to solicitors’ conflicts when acting in multiple cases brought by the same Claimant. Other recent and ongoing cases include: Thatchers v Aldi, easyGroup v Nuclei, and Glaxo Wellcome UK Limited v Sandoz Limited [2019] EWHC 2545.
