Practice Areas
Following a successful career at the Chancery Bar, Beverly chose to specialise in Mediation over 20 years ago. Since then she has been at the forefront of the drive towards alternative dispute resolution and has she has mediated hundreds of disputes across a wide range of areas, both within and beyond her expertise as a barrister.
She has experience of international, multi-party and cross-cultural disputes and has lectured and mediated in the Far East and the Middle East. She is recognised by the legal directories including Chambers, Legal 500 and Lexology a mediator who has received constant praise from her clients and who is at the pinnacle of her profession.
Recent examples of her work include disputes relating to probate, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, breach of trust claims, shareholder and partnerships, professional negligence claims against solicitors, property and employment in the education sector.
Beverly believes that mediation provides a unique opportunity for settlement and the mediator needs to be sensitive and imaginative in exploring all possible avenues towards resolution. In some cases this might involve rigorous exploration of the legal issues and detailed risk analysis. In others, the commercial or emotional considerations may hold the key to settlement. In all mediations Beverly attaches critical importance to thorough preparation and understanding of the issues, the development of a good rapport with the parties and their advisers and the patience and persistence necessary to help the parties explore resolution fully and find an acceptable outcome.
