Kenneth Broughton

Ken is a partner in Reed Smith’s Dallas and Houston offices and a seasoned first-chair trial attorney with extensive experience in energy litigation, commercial disputes, product liability defense and commodities litigation. As one of the founding partners of the firm’s Houston office, he has also served as the office’s managing partner, demonstrating leadership and commitment to the firm.

Ken has acted as lead counsel in a wide array of trials and arbitrations. His litigation practice spans numerous federal, state and bankruptcy courts, as well as arbitration panels across Texas and the broader United States. In addition to his domestic work, Ken has represented clients in proceedings in several foreign jurisdictions, including Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom, reflecting his ability to handle complex, cross-border matters.

Ken’s professional excellence has been recognized by his peers and clients alike. He was named a Thomson Reuters Stand-out Lawyer, an honor based on nominations from senior in-house counsel at major organizations. He was also selected for membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates, an invitation-only national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges with significant litigation experience, including trying civil jury trials to conclusion.
