Career

Karla joined Carson McDowell as a Senior Associate in the Commercial team in October 2020. She graduated from Queens University Belfast with an honours degree in law in 2005 and completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Chester in 2006.

She is dual qualified in England and Wales and Northern Ireland, having been admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales in 2008 and in Northern Ireland in 2012.

Karla specialises in a wide range of non-contentious commercial matters including negotiating and advising on a range of commercial contracts such as supply/purchasing agreements, terms and conditions of business, agency and distribution agreements, contractual joint ventures and on-line legal documentation. She also advises on the identification, protection and exploitation of intellectual property rights and a variety of IT contracts including software development and licensing, Saas agreements, maintenance and support agreements, website and app content and development. Karla also advises clients on a broad range of confidentiality and data protection issues.
