Laura McKee

Laura obtained her degree in Common and Civil Law with Hispanic Studies at Queen’s University, Belfast and the University of Salamanca, Spain. She was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Northern Ireland in 2008 and obtained a Certificate in Advanced Advocacy in 2013.

Laura joined Carson McDowell from another Commercial Law firm in Belfast, where she specialised in defence insurance litigation and gained extensive experience in handling high value complex claims, fraudulent and potentially fraudulent motor claims. Laura also regularly advised on policy/indemnity issues for major insurance organisations and delivered seminars and training sessions for Members of the insurance profession on a variety of topics.

Laura now specialises in the defence of clinical negligence claims, acting on behalf of medical defence organisations and insurers.

Laura has a particular interest in the innovative use of technology to support the provision of high quality legal services to clients.
