Rachel is a Senior Associate within the Commercial team at Carson McDowell. Having graduated from Queen’s University with an honours degree in law, Rachel subsequently obtained a Masters in Human Rights Law and then gained her professional qualification at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in 2015.

Prior to joining Carson McDowell, Rachel practiced in another commercial law firm, working on a diverse case load comprising of commercial, corporate and charity law matters.

Rachel regularly advises both public and private sector clients on a spectrum of commercial matters, from general commercial contracts, terms and conditions of business, specialist industry specific contracts such as manufacturing or franchise agreements to advice on data protection and intellectual property matters.

In addition, Rachel has in-depth knowledge of advising entities within the third sector having advised charity trustees on a range of charity law matters from registration, group structure, amendments to governing documents, serious incident reporting, collaboration agreements and in respect of those statutory, contractual, regulatory and fiduciary duties of trustees. Rachel has also acted in a number of charity mergers of varying forms and scale. Presently, Rachel is a trustee of Victim Support Northern Ireland.
