Stuart specialises in construction law, covering both non-contentious contract and appointment drafting and advice. He has extensive experience of the major industry standard forms such as NEC, JCT, ICC, FIDIC, RIBA, ACE and many others. Stuart also advises on construction disputes, regularly acting in adjudications, arbitrations and litigation in the High Court and above. Stuart’s experience includes major construction projects in Northern Ireland and across the UK as well as SE Asia, Africa and Europe.
Stuart has been a dedicated construction lawyer for over 27 years. He became a Partner at Carson McDowell in 2010 and heads up the firm’s Construction and Engineering team. He joined Carson McDowell having previously trained and worked at two English firms.
Stuart is dual qualified and holds practising certificates for both Northern Ireland, England and Wales.
Stuart attained a degree in Law from the University of Liverpool in 1989 and studied for his Law Society Finals at the Chester College of Law.
