Zhou Junwu specializes in advising clients in the entertainment and film/television and communication industries, and has an active practice in the areas of intellectual property, M&A, and dispute resolution.
As a veteran lawyer in the entertainment field, Zhou Junwu has achieved high-profile successes in various legal disputes involving Chinese entertainment stars. Mr. Zhou acts as legal counsel to many well-known entertainers in the music and movie industry in China, and routinely advises major artists, art designers, screen writers and choreographers. In recent years, he has successfully handled several agency contract disputes between pop singers and their agencies, the final outcome benefitting his clients’ careers. He is legal advisor on IP and other legal issues for many art agencies, movie and TV companies, TV stations, TV plays, movies and model competitions.
Mr. Zhou has handled many important litigations concerning copyright infringement, some of which are of precedential value. He is the author of numerous articles on legal issues such as the copyright protection of MTV and the definition of a standard for dance infringement. He is also an expert in structuring customized IP protection plans.
Mr. Zhou also practices in the M&A and financing field and has substantial experience in project financing for Chinese and foreign-invested electric power and chemical industries. Mr. Zhou has more than ten years of experience in litigation and arbitration in matters including loan contracts, financing and leasing, guarantees, real estate, construction projects, insurance, criminal justice and labor contract disputes.
