Juan Francisco Almeida Granja

Juan Francisco Almeida Granja is a partner at LEXVALOR Abogados. He joined the firm in 2008 and was promoted to partner in 2015.

He co-directs the corporate and M&A division of the firm and has extensive experience in Corporate and Commercial Law focusing on assisting domestic and foreign clients mostly in mergers and acquisitions. He has strong experience in structuring fiduciary business and reorganizing pre-existing corporate structures, as well as structuring investment mechanisms for start-ups and entrepreneurs.

He has been involved in the implementation of important corporate structures and advised important economic groups in Ecuador, supported by 15+ years of experience in the corporate sector.

From the dispute resolution side, he is a procedural law specialist from the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar where he also completed other postgraduate studies. In 2023 he completed his studies for a master’s degree in international Arbitration at the International University of La Rioja and he and is currently secretary of arbitration.

He has acquired experience litigating numerous civil suits and been involved in various arbitral litigation cases at the firm since 2012. He has led debt restructuring proceedings in cases with state institutions having execution judgments against clients of the firm, and other important land litigation processes.
