Santiago Aguirre

Santiago Aguirre Zaldumbide joined LEXVALOR Abogados in 2016.

His practice, since the beginning of his professional career, has been linked to the real estate sector and regulatory practice, particularly in legal advice to retail companies such as Corporación Favorita at a national level with more than 200 locations throughout the country. He also works as lawyer for several shopping malls in the city of Quito and hotel chains nationwide where he advises on real estate, regulatory and environmental matters.

In 2013, he worked as Legal Director of the Galapagos National Park, which is part of the Ministry of Environment. In 2021, he served as a representative of indigenous communities in the hotel sector in the city of Machachi for the elaboration of ordinances on land use planning and management in the Municipality of Mejia, focusing on the protection of the rights of communities and the environment.

Santiago is currently part of the Board of Directors of the Luz Maria Fernandez Salvador Trust, a non-profit entity whose purpose is to provide financial resources for the maintenance of religious communities that maintain the churches and convents of downtown Quito, and also holds the position of Director of the company Termas de Papallacta, designated as the best Resort in Ecuador & South America in the World Travel Awards 2023 and with presence in the Galapagos Islands.

In 2021, he completed his master's degree in Administrative Law and Public Contracting and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Environmental Law at the University of La Rioja.
