Joe Huigens represents healthcare providers and organizations on complex regulatory, operational, and business matters. As Chair of the firm’s Health Law Practice, he partners with physicians, hospitals, and healthcare entities to develop practical, forward-looking solutions that support compliance and operational success in an evolving regulatory environment.
Joe regularly serves as outside counsel to a broad range of healthcare organizations, including physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, clinical laboratories, and accountable care organizations. He advises on the formation, governance, and day-to-day operations of healthcare businesses, as well as key regulatory issues such as Medicare and Medicaid compliance, the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, HIPAA, and the False Claims Act. His experience also includes representing healthcare professionals in licensure, credentialing, and disciplinary matters, and counseling on employment, professional services, and industry-specific contractual arrangements.
In addition to his regulatory and transactional work, Joe helps clients design and implement effective compliance programs and risk management strategies. Drawing on his background in healthcare, corporate compliance, and litigation, he translates complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance aligned with clients’ business objectives.
