Jason Stratmoen is a partner in the Real Estate Department and is based in the firm’s New York office. Jason’s practice is concentrated in commercial real estate, with a focus on the representation of banks, private equity funds and other institutional investors at all levels of the capital stack. Jason has experience representing clients in originating mortgage loans (including loans intended for securitization, balance sheet loans and construction loans), originating mezzanine loans, negotiating intercreditor and co-lender agreements, structuring preferred equity and common equity joint venture investments, and negotiating secondary market sales of mortgage and mezzanine loans.
Jason has also dedicated substantial time to structuring and negotiating warehouse lines and master repurchase agreements, both in domestic and cross-border transactions, involving commercial mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, participation interests, commercial mortgage-backed securities and various government insured and guaranteed loans. He has also represented lenders and borrowers in connection with subscription credit facilities. In addition, he has represented both lenders and borrowers in complex loan workouts and restructurings (both in and out-of-court) as well as purchasers and sellers of distressed assets in Chapter 11 proceedings.
