Isabel Carneiro Kahlen has over 15 years’ experience as a trusted legal advisor to clients in international corporate finance transactions.
Isabel’s practice is focused on corporate/commercial legal work and cross-border M&A, PE, VC and capital markets transactions.
She works daily alongside founders and national and international high growth companies (with a strong focus on tech and life sciences). The advice provided covers the full life cycle: fundraising (convertibles, preferred rounds, venture debt), growth/scaling (including coordination of international expansion projects) and exits. Isabel also advises international venture capital funds (lead investors) in connection with their equity investments in Portugal (preferred rounds). Her work with national investors is mostly focused on strategic advice and acting as lead legal counsel for their investments abroad. Isabel is also a trusted advisor on matters of fund formation and other regulatory and strategic advice for institutional investors.
Isabel re-joined Morais Leitão in 2021 from Allen & Overy LLP in London, where she was a Senior Associate in the International Capital Markets (ICM) Department.
