Career

Iqbal regularly advises some of the largest global financial investors (such as Apax, Brookfield, CVC and TPG) and strategic investors (such as Asian Paints, Cemex, L&T, SBD and S&P), and specialises in PE investments, complex private and public M&As (domestic and cross-border), JVs and foreign investment laws.

Some of his ley recent transactions are :

TPG’s investment in RIL Jio and Reliance Retail Ventures; L&T’s divestiture of E&A business; and PayTM’s acquisition of Raheja QBE Insurance

Iqbal completed his J.D. from Columbia Law School (as Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar) and LL.B. from The LSE (UK). He also worked at K&E and Paul, Weiss in New York.
