Mr. Buil advises in financing and debt-restructuring transactions (in and out of court) and in negotiating financing and refinancing agreements involving a wide range of capital structures, including LBO refinancing; and project, real estate and corporate finance.He represents borrowers and lenders, and advises financial institutions, hedge funds and private equity funds on financing and refinancing transactions, and on distressed investment strategies (including loan-to-own and direct lending).
He has a doctorate in law from Universidad Complutense de Madrid; he received summa cum laude honors by unanimous decision and a special distinction from the university's law faculty for his thesis “Relative contractual subordination and preventive restructuring frameworks”.
He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association (2005) and the New York State Bar (2009).
