Giles Bain

Giles has practised at New Court Chambers from completing of pupillage in 1994.

As Joint Head of Chambers he has helped build a formidable team that has cemented a reputation for dependable and very competent advocacy services. His leadership skills are a natural development of his skills as an advocate.

Giles is a Child Care Barrister regularly instructed in the most complex cases on behalf of all Family Court users. As a leading junior he is regularly involved in cases that include instructed Leading Counsel.

He has led a number of members of Chambers in complex cases requiring two junior counsel.

He appears in all levels of the Family Court.

Giles retains a commitment to being accessible to all, with a core focus on the vulnerable and to publicly funded work.

The challenges posed by Covid-19 required significant focus on ensuring New Court did all it could to help maintain the smooth running of the Family Court.

Giles continues to provide Supervision to pupils, alongside his busy practice and his contribution to overseeing the smooth running of Chambers.

Called to the Bar 1993. Joined New Court 1995. Appointed joint Head of Chambers in 2015.
