Practice Areas
Partner. Mr. Pérez-Crespo has extensive experience in advising business groups on complex acquisition and restructuring transactions. He has advised clients on acquiring energy groups through securities-market transactions, and on privatizing public entities and state-owned companies. He also has ample experience in advising companies on debt renegotiation and bankruptcy proceedings. He advises business groups on corporate matters, both on ordinary business activities and on acquisition and restructuring transactions.
He oracticed as a counsel for the State for nine years, Mr. Pérez-Crespo was deputy director of the legal service of the tax authorities for four years before joining the firm. He was secretary-general of Grupo Aceralia, participating in its privatization and European integration.
Career
He lectures in the Master on Business Insolvency at Universidad CEU San Pablo (Madrid) and the Master for Admission to the Practice of Law at Universidad Pontificia Comillas-ICADE. Together with the other members of the firm’s Insolvency team, he also lectures in the Master in International Business Law organized by Wolters Kluwer Training. He regularly speaks at forums and institutions such as IESE Business School and Fide Foundation.
Professional Memberships
Member of the Special Section set up to transpose the EU directive on restructuring and insolvency. He contributed to writing the draft bill for the reform of the Insolvency Act as a member of the Special Section for Insolvency Reform. He was a member of the Taxpayer Defense Council.
