Career
Frances has specialised in Employment and Discrimination Law since qualifying as a Solicitor in 2005.
She advises on all areas of Employment Law including unfair dismissal, TUPE, industrial relations, discipline and grievance issues, redundancy and reorganisations and senior exits. She has specialised particularly in discrimination and equal pay, having advised 17 public bodies on thousands of equal pay claims arising from historical bonus payments and implementation of new job evaluation schemes. She has represented employers and employees in relation to claims of sex, age, race, disability, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity and religion or belief discrimination. Unusually, she has considerable experience in managing mass, high value and complex employment litigation in Employment Tribunals across the UK.
Frances is a member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Equality & Diversity Committee. She was selected as one of 50 international candidates to undertake an intensive 3 month programme at the Anderson Business School which was run in partnership between the University of California, Los Angeles and Banco Santander. This course was designed to identify and prepare the next generation of global women leaders for board directorship, focusing on strategy, negotiation, financial acumen and people management."
