Career

Colin trained at Watson Burton LLP in the North East (now part of Weightmans LLP) where he qualified into the Professional Indemnity Insurance team. He later joined the Commercial Insurance team at DWF in Manchester, where he spent several years advising on complex policy coverage matter. In March 2020 he joined Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP, where he is part of the firm's Group Actions and Policy Disputes teams.

Colin is a Senior Associate in the Commercial Dispute Resolution team at Penningtons Manches Cooper. His practice principally comprises specialisms in group claims and insurance coverage disputes, often combining the two. Colin's has extensive background experience in insurance litigation, with a focus on policy coverage matters, direct first-party claims by policyholders against insurers, collective redress through policyholder group actions, and advising on broker negligence claims. His wider group action practice also includes claims relating to professional negligence, property investment schemes, and financial services disputes.
