Chase Kaniecki’s practice focuses on advising and representing clients in connection with international trade, national security, and foreign direct investment (FDI) issues, including the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and ex-U.S. FDI advice and filings, particularly in Europe. Chase has assisted clients in connection with making FDI filings in a significant number of countries. Chase also has extensive experience negotiating and implementing complex national security mitigation agreements.
In addition, Chase represents and advises clients in connection with economic sanctions and export control matters, including relating to the laws administered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), as well as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and the Export Administration Regulations. Chase’s work in these areas includes working closely with U.S. government regulators, preparing and submitting specific license applications, and helping clients ensure ongoing compliance and address prior non-compliance, including preparing and submitting voluntary self-disclosures and responding to administrative subpoenas.
