Partner. Mr. Rivera is an expert in complex disputes and in international arbitration, with over 20 years of experience. He focuses his practice on conflicts related to M&A transactions, joint ventures and venture capital, and on disputes involving international energy and construction projects. He has participated in many arbitration proceedings, including ad hoc, UNCITRAL and arbitration proceedings administered by the main international arbitration courts (e.g., ICC and LCIA) and Spanish arbitration courts representing Spanish and foreign companies and also acting as arbitrator.
Career
He lectures on the Master in International Business Law at ESADE, and on courses and seminars organized by business schools and associations. He frequently participates as a panelist in international arbitration events organized by different associations.
Professional Memberships
He is member of the arbitration and litigation committees of the International Bar Association (IBA), of the Club Español del Arbitraje (CEA) and of the Barcelona Bar Association’s (ICAB) Arbitration Commission of which he was vice-president for several years. He is a founding member and currently vice-president of the Asociación para el Fomento del Arbitraje (AFA). He is also a member of ICAB’s International Relations Commission.
